* Sindh chief minister assures group of all possible cooperation
KARACHI: A nine-member delegation of largest private sector group of China Kingho Group held a meeting with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah at the CM House here on Thursday.
The chief minister, while welcoming the Chinese private sector investment group, said that there are cordial relations between China and Pakistan and particularly due to the efforts of the founder chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto these ties were strengthened.
He said that President Asif Ali Zardari has continued the efforts for having better relations with the government and the people of China.
The CM added that Sindh province possesses rich reserves of coal and other natural resources, together with agricultural productivity.
He assured the delegation that Sindh government will extend all possible cooperation to the Chinese group and invited them to have investment particularly in coal development, generation of energy and chemical productivity.
Earlier, leader of the delegation and Assistant Chairman of China Kingho Group, Ma Xiamin, apprised the Sindh chief minister about the working in structure development in mines and chemical sector.
He informed the Sindh CM that China Kingho Group being the largest private group has manpower of 64,000 and possesses 22 billion tonnes of reservoirs of coal and 800 million tonnes of iron ore.
The Chinese group showed their keen interest in chemical production plant as the group is committed to the exploitation and initialisation of resources and energy.
He further informed that Kingho group is giving top priority to China’s energy security, following the state policies of energy conservation, and emission reduction and industrial rules, taking the reasonable utilisation and green development as core principles and playing a positive role in exercising development strategy of low-carbon economy to further promote regional economic development and social stability.
Adviser to Prime Minister Kamal Majeedullah, Sindh Secretary for Mines and Mineral Development Aijaz Ali Khan, Ambassador at large Khalil Ahmed, Secretary to CM Sindh Ahmed Bux Narejo, Zouyi, Wu Zongyuam, Hang Yue, Huo Dong, Huang Wei and others, attended the meeting. app
