DHA takes over Park View Housing Society

Defence Housing Authority has taken over the control of Park View Housing Society, one of the prime localities facing Allama Iqbal International Airport and originally run and managed by Punjab IT Minister Abdul Aleem Khan.

Following signing of a MoU by the administrations of the two housing societies, DHA has deployed their own security personnel in Park View Housing Society besides displaying its board at the main entrance facing Allama Iqbal International Airport.

People now can see a significant change with the advent of DHA, change of guards and display of a big board at the face of Park View Housing Society.

The DHA, however, declined to give the contents of the MoU, saying that these would be made public after deciding certain matters with the administration of the Park View Housing Society.

DHA also fell short of conceding that it has taken over the administration of Park View Housing Society, saying that the administration was still with Abdul Aleem Khan as there were certain matters to be seen, such as any litigation or land dispute, before taking over the society management.

The MoU is mutually beneficial both for the DHA and Abdul Aleem Khan who presided over the deal. MoU is now a days talk of the town, especially among people dealing in real estate business in the DHA and adjoining housing schemes.

The residents of DHA get an easy access to Allama Iqbal International Airport through Main Boulevard Park View Housing Society, bypassing the congested and overloaded Bhatta Chowk.

Phase 8 was also lacking direct access, which would be achieved after becoming Park View Housing Society a part of DHA. DHA has also inter-linked phases 6, 7 and 8, after getting control of Park View Housing Society.

DHA spokesman said that the Authority has not taken over management of Park View Housing Society as there were a lot of things yet to be seen such as any litigation and land dispute.

He said that such a MoU was signed with Punjab Housing Society about a couple of years back but DHA did not take over its control due to certain reasons. He said that the DHA would not take over control of other small housing societies such as Eden and Divine, as Park View Housing Society would serve the purpose of providing a direct link to Allama Iqbal International Airport.

According to the sources, Abdul Aleem Khan would hugely benefit from the deal. They disclosed that over the time he has acquired control of thousands of acres of land adjacent to Park View Housing Society.

According to the people close to him, he has control over 3,000 acres of land right adjacent to Park View Housing Society.

According to the understanding reached with the DHA as claimed by the sources, Aleem Khan could sell that land under the DHA umbrella. If DHA acquires that land, Aleem Khan would earn billions.

He could even develop another housing society on this land, which would be rendered valuable by its proximity to DHA.

Abdul Aleem Khan was not available for comments despite a number of attempts made during last five days.
