LAHORE: Gwadar district administration has imposed a state of emergency following the losses caused by the recent torrential rains in the district, a private TV channel reported on Tuesday.
According to the channel, the emergency has been prompted by the heavy financial losses caused by the rains continuing in the coastal district for the last 10 days.
The rains have inundated low-lying areas and have caused severe damage to mud houses, the channel said. The district has demanded the federal government take effective steps to provide relief to the victims, it added.
