Golden Palms Gwadar to be completed by Dec next year

The development work on Golden Palms, a mega real estate project of Hashoo Group in Gwadar, would be completed by the end of next calendar year.

Chairman Hashoo Group, Sadruddin Hashwani revealed this while highlighting his group”s role in the development of Gwadar – the future city of Pakistan, at a press conference held here on Wednesday.

Around 60 per cent infrastructure work has been completed that included a desalination plant and electricity generation plant, which are functioning properly, he added.

The desalination plant would ensure hygienic drinking water for the local population once the Golden Palms project that is being developed over an area of 1,000 acres, is completed, he said.
He mentioned that Hashoo Group has also constructed a world-class five-star hotel in Gwadar, which was inaugurated on November 16, 2006, by President Pervez Musharraf.

The hotel was constructed to provide proper accommodation to the visitors and to promote tourism industry in Pakistan, he said and added that the project was completed at a cost of Rs100 billion.

Local people of the province have been hired to work in different departments of the hotel after they were imparted five-month training to work on professional lines, he said and added that the total staff of the hotel is around 300 people which include personnel from Karachi, as they were already trained and have skills to work in hotel industry.

As a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CRS), the group is going to establish primary to secondary school for the locals whereas the group is already running 28 schools in different provinces in the country, he responded to a query.

He asked the other businessmen and entrepreneurs to come forward and play their role in the development of Gwadar.

The Gwadar port would be opened in March 2007. Some parts of port are declared as “tax-free zone” and they must avail the facility.
