ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Communications Babar Khan Ghauri Saturday announced to shift the headquarters of Gwadar Port Authority and Gwadar Port Implementation Authority from Karachi to Gwadar .
He observed this while chairing a presentation that was made to him by Akbar Ali Pasnani, Chairman, Gwadar Port Implementation Authority in the committee room of the Ministry .
On the conclusion of the presentation, the Minister said that Chairman, Gwadar Port Implementation Authority would initiate a proposal regarding the usage of port after its completion, the office of Gwadar Port at Karachi would now be used as camp office .
Earlier, Secretary of the Ministry Iftikhar Rashid briefed the minister about the appointment of Akbar Ali Pasnani as Chairman Gwadar, he would serve as Chief Executive of Gwadar Port and responsible for overall supervision, working of the port and its allied matter .
Rear Admiral (Retired) Sarfaraz Khan, Chairman Gwadar Port Authority briefed the minister regarding the civil work on the port and other related matter. He assured that the work would be completed as per schedule .
The Minister advised him to continue his coordination with Chinese working on the port. He should also supervise the progress of the civil work including the installation of equipment for the operation of the port.
