ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) will upgrade Capital Hospital to a medical college within a year to provide teaching and modern healthcare facilities to people of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, said Parliamentary Affairs Minister Babar Awan on Monday during a visit to the hospital. He also inaugurated a newly built nephrology centre of the hospital, visited various wards and inquired after the patients. He directed the CDA to revise salary package of the hospital’s doctors and plan a housing colony for them. He said the government was utilising all available resources to provide better health facilities to people. He said facilities of MRI and computed tomography (CT) scanner would be available at the hospital by June 30. The minister directed the hospital administration to prepare a report in a fortnight on establishment of anti-pollen allergy and trauma centre at the hospital. Meanwhile, Capital Hospital Executive Director Hamid Zeb briefed the minister on ambulance service and nephrology department of the hospital.
