ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to provide potable water to Sector G-13 from Khanpur Water Supply project. Talking to this news agency on Thursday, CDA Water and Sanitation Wing Director General Sanaullah Aman said 2 million gallons water per day was allocated for the sector to ensure smooth supply.
He said Sector G-13 water supply line would be connected to Khanpur Water Supply project at Tumair and the process would be completed within a month. The DG said water situation was satisfactory both in Simly and Khanpur dams and water supply to the capital would be increased from 60 to 62 million gallons per day in the next month.
He said about 20 water supply lines had been repaired to stop the wastage of potable water and address the grievances of the masses. Aman said complaints by citizens had been significantly reduced owing to the prompt action by the authority.
He said the authority had also increased number of water supply tankers from 17 to 35 to mitigate the drinking water problem. However, residents of Sector G and I series have been facing shortage of water. They claimed that the CDA’s water tanker service was not quick and sufficient and complaints registered even early in the morning do not guarantee a water supply.
