LAHORE: The Lahore Electric Supply Company’s (LESCO’s) 220-KV grid station on Bund Road went out of order on Monday, causing increased load shedding in the city.
The grid station provides electricity to the southern part of the city including Johar Town, Saidpur, Multan Road, Sabzazar, Iqbal Town, Awan Town, Samanabad, Canal View Housing Society and Wahdat Road. LESCO had to increase load shedding by an hour in the area and also shifted some of its load to other grid stations, causing unscheduled power outages in areas including Model Town, DHA and Gulberg.
LESCO Public Relations Deputy Director Javed Khan said engineers were working on the grid station and it would take three or four days to repair it.
