LAHORE: The registration branches of district, Model Town and Cantt courts have started preparations to computerise the land record in light of the directives issued by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
The computerisation of land record was started by the previous government with the allocation of millions of rupees to purchase computers and furniture. A separate computer room had been constructed for every revenue office with the provision of new computers and furniture, but the project had been put on the back burner for the last three years.
The city tehsil has failed to complete its record while the Cantt court has yet to conduct any work to start the project. The previous government had provided computers to every revenue office and a computer lab was established at the district court following which the computerisation of the land record was started.
The people are also been given computerised documents of the land ownership, but now the project has been geared up following the instructions of the chief minister.
