LAHORE: Former captain of Pakistan Cricket Team Wasim Akram visited the Chief Minister’s Complaint Cell on Wednesday to lodge a complaint against the Irrigation Cooperative Housing Society.
Akram, along with his father, submitted that the society was engaged in fraudulent practices, as the allotters had not been given possession of plots and no development work had been completed. He said they had come to the cell with confidence that Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif would ensure justice. The cell’s in-charge, Qamaruz Zaman, directed the capital city police officer and the cooperatives secretary to take due action against the society.
Zaman said the confidence of a national hero like Wasim Akram speaks volumes about the cell’s performance. He said the CM held the people’s interest at heart, adding that there was no room for corruption under his rule.
