LDA collects Rs173.5m as commercialisation fee

LAHORE – The Recovery Directorate of Lahore Development Authority has collected a sum of Rs 173.5 million during the month of April on account of annual and permanent commercialisation fee, from various localities of the provincial metropolis.

Director Recovery LDA Kh Muhammad Ali has informed that under the directives of Director General Lahore Development Authority, Abdul Jabbar Shaheen, a special recovery campaign was launched and the amount gathered during the previous month is 433 percent more than the target amount of Rs 40 million per month.

He told that special teams were constituted for collecting outstanding dues of commercialisation from Gulberg, Garden Town, Muslim Town and Allama Iqbal Town areas. “Recovery of such a big amount is encouraging sign under the prevailing economic conditions,” he observed.

Clerk dismissed: Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has imposed major penalty of dismissal from service upon Abdul Naeem, Junior Clerk, under Punjab Employees Efficiency Discipline and Accountability Act, 2006.
He had been proved guilty of misplacement of original file JT/AP/1181-F in order to cover up the bogus exchange proceedings and for preparing a duplicate file without having certified copies of the documents and fulfillment of codal formalities, in the wake of a comprehensive enquiry conducted against him.

A detailed opportunity of personal hearing was given to the accused but he completely failed to give any cogent reason in his defence. He accepted before the authority that he processed the duplicate file, so it is evident that he was a part of this forgery. Therefore, the charges levelled against the accused had been proved without any iota of doubt.

Against this backdrop and after examining the case in detail, Mr Shahid Farid, Director Administration, LDA, in his capacity as authority, impose major penalty of dismissal from service upon the accused under section 4(b)(vi) of Punjab Employees Efficiency Discipline and Accountability Act, 2006.
