LDA demolishes four buildings

THE Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Town Planning Wing has demolished four buildings and sealed another two during an operation against illegal constructions on Wednesday.

The Lahore Development Authority staff demolished an under-construction building on plot No-6 of Ghee Corporation Society situated on Khyban-e- Jinnah because it was being built in violation of the building plan approved by the Lahore Development Authority.

No building plan had been got approved for Plot No. 47 of this society. Therefore, the structure being constructed on this plot was also demolished.

Building constructed on plot No. 5 was sealed, as it had also been constructed in violation of the approved building plan. In the PIA Housing Society, the Lahore Development Authority Staff demolished an under-construction building on residential plot No. 97-G, as no building plan had been got approved for it.

Meanwhile, during the ongoing grand anti-encroachment operation, the City District Government Lahore (CDGL) demolished encroachments with the help of heavy machinery and police personnel within the radius of 62 km in all the nine towns of the provincial metropolis on Wednesday.

District Coordination Officer (DCO) Ahad Cheema monitored the entire operation all the day while other officers, including TMOs, TORs and other concerned staff, were also present.

Each TMA was accompanied by the concerned DSPs and 60 to 70 officials, including Civil Defence and police officials.

The enforcement staff demolished dozens of permanently built ramps in front of the shops, stairs and signboards situated on major roads of different areas and in the commercial markets.

Meanwhile, the enforcement squad also demolished 210 unlawfully constructed ramps, 15 tandoors and 20 steps and stairs of the shops.

About 16 truckloads of the encroached items were shifted to the CDGL and towns warehouses.
