LAHORE: The Lahore Transport Company (LTC) is implementing a project of new 2,000 buses for citizens of Lahore.
Presiding over a meeting, Chairman LTC Khawaja Ahmad Hassan added local and foreign investors were showing keen interest in executing this plan. He said steps were being taken to speedup the plan, said a press release on Sunday.
He said high pressure CNG stations would be set up for in collaboration with Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd (SNGPL). He said opinions of transport owners and representatives of civil society would be considered in this regard.
The meeting was also attended by Vice chairman LTC Mehr Ishtiaq Ahmed, CEO LTC J I Kim, GM Operations Asad Gilani, GM Enforcement Kamran Khan, GM Finance Adnan Mudassar, GM Planning and infrastructure Muhammad Ozair Shah, Media Advisor Amjad Hussain, Arshad Khan Niazi and representative of civil society Jamal Ashraf.
The Chairman said that the government wanted to encourage private transport companies in order so that better public transport facilities could be provided. He said that transport owners were significant stake holders; therefore, they have been made part of LTC advisory committee, adding their issues would be resolved.
