LAHORE, Feb 17: The City District Government of Lahore (CDGL) has handed over control of another four major roads to the Lahore Development Authority (LDA).
The roads are Jail Road (from Qartaba Chowk to Sherpao Bridge), Ferozepur Road (from Qartaba Chowk to Suai Aasil), Canal Road (from Wagah to boundary of Lahore district) and Raiwind Road (from Thokar Niaz Beg Chowk to boundary of Lahore district).The LDA will now sanction building plans, check construction activities, remove encroachments as well as entertain requests for change of land use etc, says an announcement on Thursday.
The people desirous of carrying out constructions on these roads will now be required to submit their applications regarding building control issues to the town planning director and the estate management director at LDA’s Johar Town offices.
FEE RECOVERY: The recoveries/commercialisation directorate of LDA’s town planning wing has recovered Rs237.62 million during the first half of the current financial year on account of annual/permanent commercialisation fee.
The directorate constituted special teams for recovering the outstanding amount from defaulters.
Meanwhile, LDA Director General Abdul Jabbar Shaheen has taken serious view of the number of chief minister’s directives/references lying pending besides delay in furnishing reports or replies to the chief secretary’s complaints.
He issued instructions to all the directors concerned for speeding up response to CM’s directives and chief secretary’s complaints.
TRANSFERRED: The services of six assistant directors have been placed at the disposal of LDA Chief Town Planner.
The officers are Hammad Saleem and Hafeezullah (katchi abadis), Sohail Anjum (one-window operation), Rana Shahid Irshad (awaiting posting), Suleman Gull (estate management directorate, Quaid-i-Azam Town) and Ozair bin Tariq (estate management directorate, LDA Avenue-I).
