KARACHI: The Maritime Security Agency (MSA) rescued a distressed boat out in the sea near Gwadar. A MSA release issued here on Sunday said that its headquarters received a message regarding a distressed fishing boat, Al-Qasim (BFD-8479), on December 31, 2010. According to the information, the fishing boat flooded and sunk, approximately two nautical miles from Gwadar Fish Harbour. The MSA immediately tasked its boats stationed at Gwadar along with a diving team to salvage the boat and assist the crew. The team through strenuous efforts salvaged the boat after a 2.5 hours operation. The salvaged boat was handed over to the owner.
