Parents should stop children from one-wheeling on Eid: CCPO
LAHORE: Parents should advise their children to desist from the life-threatening sport of one-wheeling on Eidul Fitr, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Pervez Rathore said on Friday.
Rathore issued instructions for stern action against motorcyclists involved in one-wheeling or riding bikes without silencers, and said youth engaged in hooliganism should not be spared. He said special teams would be formed to take action against those pestering the citizens or indulging in negative activities. The CCPO said the traffic wardens, Mohafiz Force, mobile squads, Elite Force and the station house officers (SHOs) would take stern measures in their respective areas to curb such activities. He directed all the superintendents of police (SPs) to keep a watchful eye on the activities of anti-state and anti-social elements and said stern vigilance should be maintained at bus and wagon stands, trade and business centres, hotels and at the entry and exit points of the city. He said a special security plan had been evolved to maintain smooth traffic flow on Eid and additional traffic wardens had been deployed at important routes to prevent traffic jams.
