ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has decided to form a focal group, with representatives of mobile companies and banking sector, for mobile banking.
This decision was taken in a meeting held at the PTA headquarters on Wednesday. Senior executives of mobile operators, banks and PTA attended the meeting. MCB made a presentation on mobile banking in Pakistan. Different mobile banking models were also discussed.
PTA Chairman Dr Mohammed Yaseen said mobile banking is a value addition and has utmost consumer convenience, wherein users can avail banking facilities through mobile communication.
He said that two conferences on mobile banking have already been held and another would be held in Karachi in March. He said the focal group on mobile banking would work as a bridge between mobile companies and banks.
