ISLAMABAD: The residents of Sectors G-6 and G-7 are facing shortage of water in the federal capital.
The residents talking to APP claimed that they were hiring water tanks to fulfill their needs of water. They said the Capital Development Authority (CDA) showed no response to their complaints. They said the CDA should ensure provision of water to the residents of Sectors G-6 and G-7.
When contacted a CDA official, he said that CDA’s Water Supply Directorate carried out the production, treatment, transmission and distribution of potable water from ground and surface sources. He said that water was produced and treated at filtration plants, while four small head works and 174 tube wells were conveyed to the service reservoirs and intermediate pumping stations located at appropriate places within the city and further distributed to the houses through distribution network.
He said that a tanker service, comprising 36 tankers, were also operated which augments the supply to the consumers as and when required, on nominal charges.
