Work on Ashiana Iqbal from March 23

LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that the foundation stone of Ashiana Iqbal on Burki Road will be laid on March 23 and besides construction of 5, 7 and 10 marla houses, apartments will also be constructed there.

He said that after first Aashiyana Housing Scheme at Saroba Attari, thousands of houses with modern facilities would also be constructed in Ashiana Iqbal for the poor and common man. He stated this while presiding over a briefing regarding Ashiana Iqbal project here on Sunday.

Addressing the gathering Shahbaz said that for the first time in the history of the country the families of martyrs, widows and common man have been provided with such residential facilities at affordable prices through this scheme.

Aashiana-II to open soon: CM

LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that besides extension of the project of Aashiana Housing scheme at Saroba Attari, the foundation stone of Aashiana-II at Burki will be laid soon.

He was presiding over a meeting to review the progress on Aashiana Housing project. The meeting reviewed in detail Aashiyana Housing Schemes in Lahore and other districts of the province.

The chief minister said the Punjab government had launched the project of Aashiana Housing scheme for the benefit of the poor, widows, orphans and workers and due to the programme, the dream of shelterless people to have their own house had come true. He also issued instructions for accelerating the work on Aashiana schemes in the province.

He disclosed that the project of Aashiyana-II will soon be started near Barki and Ring Road in Lahore whereas Aashiyana schemes will be started this year in 17 districts of the province.
