Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Imtiaz Inayat Elahi has said that CDA is the first municipality of the country which has initiated Rain Harvesting Project to enrich the ground water and 20 projects have been successfully completed at various sites in the federal capital.
The CDA chairman said this during a meeting with the delegation of under-training officers of NIPA, Lahore, here at CDA Headquarters on Tuesday, says a press release. He said that CDA is taking concrete measures for provision of water and transportation to the residents of the city, adding that CDA is in contact with Economic Affairs Division to finalise the upgradation of the existing water supply system and supply of water to federal capital from Ghazi Barotha Water Project.
He said that CDA is focusing on planting the indigenous species of trees, especially fruit and flowering trees and strict monitoring of the planted saplings has been carried out to ensure their maximum survival. He said that these indigenous plants are environment friendly which would not cause any allergy problems to the residents of the city.
