A friendly golf tournament was held at Butterfly Valley Golf & Country Club, Bahria Town Rawalpindi. Ambassadors with their spouses along with members of Bahria Town participated in the tournament.
The prominent among them were Mr. Ahmad Shahizan Abdsamad High Commissioner of Malaysia, H.E. Pehin Col. (R) Abdul Jalil Hj Ahmad High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam, Excellency Mr. U Tin Oo Ambassador of Myanmar, H.E Mr. Jaime J. Yambao Ambassador of Philippines, Mr. Sukho Piromnan Ambassador of Thailand, H.E. Mr. Shin Un Ambassador of the Republic of Korea , Madam In Sun Wife of Korean Ambassador, Madam Eliza Ronan from Philippine Embassy, Chantra Pramoonsad from Thailand Embassy, Cdr (R) Muhammad Ilyas ( Bahria Town), Mariam Rehman (Bahria Town), Col (R) Akhtar Saeed ( Bahra Town), Brg (R) Maqsood ( Bahria Town). Ambassador of Thailand was the winner of the tournament and Korean Ambassador was runner up. Madam In Sun won the ladies event and Mariam Rehman was 1st runners up.
Butterfly Valley Golf Course and Country Club is the first of its kind 09-Hole USGA standard, 72 par golf course in Pakistan. All the participants appreciated the design and provision of international standard facilities in the golf course. The Chairman of Asean + 3 Ambassador’s Club announced that their club will hold golf tournaments twice a year in Butterfly Valley Golf & Country Club. All commented that this golf course will revolutionize the game of golf in Pakistan and will help to grow this game in the country. Participants said that this golf course will greatly help the Pakistani Golfers to improve their standard and thus will be able to show good results in international events throughout the world.
