ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) has cancelled the layout plan of a housing scheme for slow-paced development work and issued final notices to the owners of three other schemes for early start of uplift work to prevent cancellation of their layout plans.
A senior CDA official told Daily Times that the layout plan of Paradise Housing Scheme in the capital’s Zone II had been cancelled and Cabinet Division Cooperative Housing Scheme, RP Cooperative Housing Scheme and the Interior Ministry’s Housing Scheme had been put on notice.
He said owners of the three schemes had also been directed to demarcate land and update the CDA on the exact number of their allotees. The official said the CDA had recently captured the land of Jeddah Town on the directives of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for failing to fulfill certain legal formalities and begin development work for many years. He said the authority had prepared a plan to fence the scheme’s land measuring around 800 kanals.
He said the CDA had planned action against around 20 hosing schemes, where development work had yet to begin properly.
The official said No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) had been issued to 44 housing societies, 30 for Zone V and 14 for Zone II. He said 12 housing societies had already got NOCs to begin work in Zone II and Zone V.
He said under the CDA’s Islamabad Capital Territory Zoning Regulation, 1992, private housing schemes could be sponsored by a cooperative society registered under the Cooperative Societies Act, 1925. He said a private company listed with Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) in the capital’s Zone II and V.
The official said a housing society got approved its project’s layout plan and engineering design before securing NOC to begin development work. He said the CDA set a timeframe for every society to complete project. fazal sher
