FAISALABAD: Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif reviewed the Aashiyana Housing Scheme near Makkoana here on Sunday and said ownership of the scheme would be allotted to only those people who were earning less than Rs20,000 per month.
After reviewing the site, he said as many as 2,800 residences would be constructed in Makkoana Aashiyana Housing Scheme which sprawling over 1,170 acres of land at Jaranwala Road about four kilometers away from the city.
He said no rich or influential person would be allowed to get residence in any Aashiyana House Scheme, which was initially initiated in eight districts of Punjab.
After successful completion of the scheme in these districts and transparent allotment of residences, the Ashiana Housing Scheme (AHS) would be expanded throughout the province, he said.
The chief minister also visited Abdullah Pur Chowk and said that he would send a team of experts from Lahore to visit Abdullah Pur Chowk and proposed underpass like Kalma Chowk Lahore to resolve traffic problems of the city.
He said underpass at Kalma Chowk Lahore was completed within 4.5 months and Abdullah Pur underpass would also be constructed with such a speed to provide early relief to people of Faisalabad.
Provincial Minister for Law Rana Sana Ullah Khan appreciated the people friendly policies of the chief minister Punjab and said the Punjab government was committed to resolve genuine problems of people especially living in far-flung areas. (APP)
