Trading activities resumed in Pakistan’s South-western Gwadar port this week after six months when two vessels from Saudi Arabia brought fertiliser to the city. The activity revived life in a town that had come to a standstill due to the security situation. A day before the vessels arrived, 11 workers of the National Highway Authority and the Frontier Works Organisation (partially owned by armed forces) were killed in Jiwani. A day after, bodies of two Baloch youth, one of them an engineer and official of the Gwadar Development Authority, were found. Resentment among the locals appeared to be high in the aftermath of the recovery of bodies of Baloch political workers in Gwadar.
