Islamabad: CDA reserves sector D-15 for low-income persons

ISLAMABAD – The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Tuesday approved reserving D-15 Sector for the low-income people.The approval was made in the CDA Board meeting, which was presided over by CDA Chairman Kamran Lashari and was attended by members of the CDA board.

An official of the authority, while disclosing details of the meeting, told TheNation that three and five marla houses would be constructed in D-15 Sector for low-income groups of people. He said the decision would be warmly welcomed by the middle class and would prove helpful in resolving the long-standing problem of the poor people residing in the Capital.

Other decisions taken in the meeting are approval of additional staff for Kachi Abadi Cell and creation of a new post of the Risk Management Officer (RMO) in the Treasury Division. The board also sent case of the allotment of residential land to the police personnel to the Senate Standing Committee. The board also approved more plots in Sector H-9 for nurseries and directed to be given out through open auction, the official said.

The board also approved that owners of three kanals land along IJ Principal Road would be allowed to set up bus stands, for which the Authority would receive Rs 1,000 for each square meter.

The board also okayed allotment of plots in I-14 sector to the affectees of various villages of the federal capital. The board directed for preparing working paper for the removal of contradictions in the CDA’s Services Regulations 1992, so these might be deliberated over in the next meeting.
The board also approved spraying and fogging for the private units, but the authority would collect charges for the same.
