SENIOR Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab Zulfiqar Ali Khosa said that the Punjab government would allot residential plots to gold medallist Pakistan Movement workers in recognition of their services.
This was announced at a high level meeting presided over by Sardar Zulfiqar Khosa. Secretary Housing and Urban Development Sohail Aamir, Special Assistant to CM Raja Ashfaq Sarwar and officers of LDA and Housing Department attended the meeting.
Earlier, the Pakistan Movement Workers Trust in its letter had reminded chief minister Punjab that Quaid PML-N Mian Nawaz Sharif as the chief minister Punjab had in a function of awarding gold medals to Pakistan Movement workers announced that residential plots would also be given to these 69 gold medallists. Chairman of the Trust, Majeed Nizami requested the chief minister Punjab to implement the announcement of Quaid PML-N.
On this, the CM set up a committee headed by Sardar Zulfiqar Khosa, which was directed to formulate its recommendations by considering the distribution of the plots. The committee recommended that workers belonging to Lahore should be allotted plots in Lahore while the workers living outside Lahore be given plots in the schemes of Housing Department in their respective districts. The workers belonging to other provinces should be given plots either in Lahore or cash equal to the price of the plots.
Meanwhile, Sardar Zulfiqar Khosa also reviewed new and on-going water supply schemes of urban and rural areas of the province in a meeting. Secretary Housing Sohail Aamir, Chairman P&D Javed Aslam, MPAs and officers of departments concerned also attended the meeting.
