Punjab government has prepared two major projects with one regarding the construction of a cardiology hospital and the other of a urology institute aimed to facilitate the people of the twin cities. PC-1 of the projects have been approved that would be constructed with a cost of Rs4.5 billion and work would be started within a few months.
Sources said that PML-N MNA Hanif Abbasi had proposed the projects and had them approved with his efforts. The cardiology hospital would be constructed near the accountability courts at Tehmasabad at a cost of Rs2.8 billion and would have 200 beds where inexpensive treatment would be provided to heart patients.
The hospital would have the facility of bypass surgery as well. The urology institute would be constructed near Committee Chowk at a cost of Rs1.7 billion. PML-N MNA Hanif Abbasi, when contacted, said that work on the two projects would be started in May or July.
