Islamabad—An amount of Rs 11,631.171 million were originally allocated for 20 projects of National Highway Authority (NHA) in Balochistan under PSDP 2010-2011, Minister for Communications, Dr Arbab Alamgir Khan told Upper House of the Parliament on Wednesday.
However, the allocation was revised to Rs 9869.086 million which include foreign aid of Rs 1,913. 728 million for the ongoing schemes including Nutal Sibi, Dhadar, Gwadar-Turbat Hoshab, Khori Quba Saeed Khan, Kalat-Quetta-Chaman and others, he told Senate. The highest allocation among all these projects was of Rs 4,115.546 for Hoshab-Nag-Basima-Surab for construction of 459 km long road (N-85), the Minister said.
Out of total revised allocation, an amount of Rs 4,668.483 including Rs. 2,596.551 million and Foreign aid of Rs 2, 071.932 million has been utilized during July 2010 to Feb 2011. Asian Development Bank (ADB) provided an amount of Rs 1,046.636 million and Rs 845.217 for Hub-Uthal and Qilla Saifullah-Zhob projects respectively while JICA has given an amount of Rs 180.079 million for Kararo-Wad project, he said.
However, there is one new scheme for links/services roads from adjoining villages and two UN Funded projects of Quetta Western Bypass and Surab-Kalat.
