Official says authority to take loan from federal government to pay its part of Rs 1.6 billion
ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) plans to acquire a loan for execution of the long-pending Light Emitting Diodes (LED) project to replace the existing street lights system for energy saving purposes.
Rs 6.5 billion are needed for the implementation of the LED lights project.

ISLAMABAD: Hearing the case of a Rs 9 billion loan scam in the Bank of Punjab, the Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday issued directives to various private and official representatives to facilitate each other in transfer of seven properties of the main accused, Sheikh Haris, to the purchaser before March 22.
“Needless to observe, the accountability court or the high court or any other court, seized of the matter, shall dispose of the cases of the petitioner independently and without being influenced in any manner from the present proceedings,” said a three-member SC bench, headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.

LAHORE: Giving a fresh impetus to Istanbul-Lahore friendship journey, Istanbul Mayor Dr Kadir Topbas announced on Monday that he would gift 100 buses for the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project.
“I am very thankful to the people of Lahore and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for according me and my delegation a very impressive greeting in Lahore,” said the visiting mayor at a luncheon hosted by Mr Sharif in Raiwind ahead of the opening of the civil work of the BRT project.
