Recently Bahria Town (Pvt) Ltd allocated a place at Bahria Town Rawalpindi and established “Bahria Town Dasterkhawan” where free meals are provided twice daily. After the success of this dasterkhawan at Rawalpindi management of Bahria Town has decided to open “Bahria Town Dasterkhawan” at 26 Abbot Road Lahore where free lunch and dinner will be provided daily from May 19, 2009 onwards to needy people. At this Dasterkhawan 3000 to 4000 persons can eat free meals daily and food is being prepared hygienically and people can have their meals in cool and good environment. Separate arrangements have been made for men and women.
In developing economies like Pakistan it is impossible for the government to under take social welfare projects on its own and it is the responsibility of private sector to come forward and start programs for welfare of general public and it is hoped that following the foot steps of Bahria Town other corporations and business entities will initiate various projects for the well being of general public.
