Karachi: Administrator DHA Brig Khalid Tirmizi who is also President CBC visited the Katchi Abadis under the jurisdiction of CBC located in DHA’s vicinity here today. CEO CBC Zeenat Ahmed and Member CBC Aziz Suharwardy accompanied the Administrator during the visit.
During the five hour long visit the Administrator walked through the dilapidated streets of the area and met the residents to inquire about their problems. The Administrator instructed CBC to undertake more development works and to bring about a visible improvement in the sewerage, sanitation, road repairs, health care and public amenity facilities in the area.
He asked CBC not to neglect Katchi Abadis in their development priorities and to make substantial efforts to ameliorate the problems of their residents.
The Administrator during his visit to Lower Gizri Colony and Bukshan Village asked CBC to complete the left over work of making tile streets in the area on war footing.
He also ordered that work on installing a filter plant in Bukshan Village be completed in a month’s time adding that in future CBC would accord top most priority to installation of water plants in Katchi Abadis to provide the residents safe and healthy drinking water facility. He also ordered installation of an additional filter plant in Lower Gizri Colony.
Brig Khalid asked CBC to reconstruct and repair the road behind Zaheen Academy located between Clifton Block 8 and T&T Colony and complete the same at the earliest. He also ordered installation of flood lights in Bukshan Village Football Ground and construction of a changing room for the players to provide a good sports facility to the youth of the area.
The Administrator ordered construction of a state-of-the-art Theme Park in Clifton Block 9 by combining three adjacent neglected parks to develop it as an attractive recreational resort of the metropolis.
He also asked CBC to develop parking plaza at Forum in Clifton and to make a park behind with tiled flooring behind the plaza.
The Administrator also visited CBC Fire Brigade facility at Punjab Chowrangi. He appreciated the devotion to duty of the firefighters and announced one month’s pay honorarium for DHA and CBC staff. He visited the CBC Medical Centre in Bazar Area of Bukshan Village and directed that availability of medicines and quality medical services be ensured. He also announced donation of an AC for the Doctor’s Room.
The Administrator ordered that the pace of work on construction of damaged roads be expedited and Kh-e-Shamsheer, Kh-e-Saba and 26th Street should be reconstructed on priority without any delay.
The Administrator will visit Delhi Colony, Punjab Colony, Ch Khaliq uz Zaman Colony and Neelum Colony in Katchi Abadis falling under jurisdiction of CBC on27 Jan’ 09.
