PHA starts cutting trees along canal bank
LAHORE, Sept 16: The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) on Friday started cutting trees to facilitate widening of 14-kilometre parallel roads along the Lahore Branch Canal from Thoker Niaz Beg to Dharampura after the Supreme Court gave the authorities concerned a conditional ‘go-ahead’ on Thursday.

LHC allows parking plaza, library at Doongi Ground
LAHORE: A full bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC), on Friday, while disposing of different petitions allowed the Punjab government to construct a parking plaza, library and bowling alley on 18 percent of the 39 kanal area of Doongi Ground, Gulberg, while the remaining area would still serve as a public park.
