ISLAMABAD: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Mohammad Yusuf said on Wednesday that Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz would soon inaugrate an industrial zone in Gwadar.
“Development projects in Balochistan will be completed on a priority basis. I have also brought to the notice of both the head of state and government the unemployment situation in our province,” Yusuf told reporters, referring to his separate meetings with President General Pervaiz Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz
He hailed the decision by the Parliamentary Committee on Balochistan, headed by PML President Ch Shujaat Hussain, to transfer the authority of 29 organisations from the federation to provinces. “The decision will contribute much to harmonising relations among the provinces as well as with the federation. I would like the constitutional sub-committee of the parliamentary committee on Balochistan, headed by Senator Wasim Sajjad, to complete its recommendations as early as possible to bring an end to the sense of deprivation in the smaller provinces,” he said. Referring to his meeting with Deputy Chairman Planning Commission, Dr Akram Sheikh, he said: “Mr. Sheikh has assured me of early implementation of development projects announced for Balochistan.”
He added that investors had already started investing in Gwadar and the Gwadar Port Authority was extending its full cooperation in this regard. He dispelled the impression that the provincial government was involved in selling real estate in Gwadar. nni
