According to sources, the PHA had invited applications from the federal government employees for submission of option forms from August 31 to September 30, 2007, but the date was extended till October 10, 2007.
A PHA official told that around 80,000 applications have been completed and a summary has been forwarded to the Prime Minister to review price of land, which had increased substantially over the last few years.
Around 37,000 houses would be constructed for the low paid federal government employees on ownership basis. The main problem was to acquire land in the capital and four provincial capitals, he added. es Cooperative Housing Society (SCHS).
