LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice (CJ) Khawaja Muhammad Sharif has directed the acting Punjab advocate general (AG) to take along Town Officer (Planning) Malik Liaqat Ali and architect Rafi Rehmani and visit a building being constructed by the Punjab Club, behind the residence of a LHC judge in the Government Officers Residence (GOR-I) locality and report to the court on August 19. The CJ directed the AG to get an undertaking from the Punjab Club secretary to resolve the matter by the next hearing. On Wednesday, the town officer read out the Building and Zone Law in the court and maintained that no violation had been committed in the construction of the building. Data Gunj Bukhsh Town Municipal Officer (TMO) Javed Rasheed informed the court that the Punjab Club authorities had undertaken to satisfy the judge, who was residing there. The CJ had taken suo motu notice of the construction of a commercial building in Danepur Lane, GOR-I behind the residence of a LHC judge.
