Islamabad: Despite the announcement of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), the project of 11th Avenue from IJ Principal Road to Khayaban-e-Sir Syed could not be completed in the current fiscal year.
According to Annual Development Programme (ADP), the construction of that important project was to be started in the current year and the PC-1 of the project has also been finalised but CDA Chairman Tariq Mehmood Khan directed to the authorities concerned to prepare designs of underpasses and flyovers before the start of construction work.
According to sources, a consultant firm hired for preparation of designs would prepare the designs within six months and the capital’s authority to pay Rs86 million to the company. Ten underpasses and flyovers would be constructed on 11th Avenue. It is also suggested to start work of one portion of the road, as the preparations of designs would take 6 months.
