ISLAMABAD: The Health Ministry has shelved the project of 4-storey Medical Tower and according to sources, it has been decided to extend Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and Federal Government Services Hospital (FGSH) two main hospitals of the capital.
Sources further told that amount would be allocated in the budget to improve the infrastructure of these two hospitals. It may be recalled that the previous government had devised a plan to construct 22-storey Medical Tower before deadly October 8, 2005 earthquake but later restricted it to 4-storey building.
