ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Wednesday directed Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Tariq Mehmood Khan to ensure timely completion of all projects without compromising the quality of work to avoid escalation in cost.
The prime minister also directed the CDA chairman to ensure protection of environment during the construction of bridges and roads and plant more trees to make Islamabad a greener and pollution-free city.
He passed these directives during a meeting with the Khan at PM’s House. The prime minister directed the CDA chairman to ensure uninterrupted supply of water to the city throughout the year, particularly in the summer.
Emphasising the importance of good governance in every sphere of life, he directed the CDA chairman to improve the working of one-window operation and hire firms and employees on merit.
The CDA chairman briefed Gilani on all ongoing and proposed development projects. The prime minister was apprised of construction of additional family suites for parliamentarians.
Khan said every step was being taken to protect the environment and maintain the beauty of Islamabad during the construction of roads and bridges.
