THE Lahore High Court on Thursday ordered to seal the record of Canal View Housing Society with directions that the same would be done in the presence of lawyers of both sides.
Justice Zafar Iqbal Chaudhry passed this order while hearing a petition challenging the dissolution of society managing committee by District Officer Cooperative and appointment of an administrator.
The petitioner Advocate Ch Muhammad Saleem pleaded that he was elected president of the society by securing 329 votes in election. He said he along with other office-bearers took charge of their offices but a few days later, DO (cooperative) Ahsan Zaidi dissolved the managing committee on the plea that some members of the cabinet had resigned and appointed Farrukh Punno as its administrator.
The petitioner pointed out that the respondent DO had done this act illegally on political pressure and the same should be set aside.
The LHC had already suspended the order in question on previous hearing.
On Thursday, the petitioner argued that the record of the society was still lying under the custody of the administrator and the same might be sealed.
