LAHORE: In a successful anti-encroachment operation, the Estate Management Directorate of Lahore Development Authority retrieved about 40 kanals of land worth Rs. 400 million, in R-3 block of Johar Town, after demolishing about 200 huts, squatters and houses. Director Estate Management Directorate and senior estate officer personally supervised the operation and ensured eviction of all the illegal occupants.
The LDA staff had to face resistance but the operation was successfully completed. Meanwhile, the LDA staff also carried out a clean-up operation on Multan Road and Allama Iqbal Town.
The staff razed three illegal furniture showrooms, five makeshift hotels, nine kiosks and more than 20 concrete sheds. In another operation, the LDA staff evicted illegal occupants from two houses in Garden Town, each measuring two kanals, and sealed the buildings.
