LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has sought reports within five days from the Lahore Development Authority (LDA), Traffic Engineering and Planning Agency (TEPA) and other departments on a petition challenging a government policy to commercialise 58 city roads. The petitioner, Manzoor Hussain, submitted the LDA on July 11 published an advertisement in national dailies inviting public opinion to finalise its policy about commercial activities on 58 roads. The petitioner said the roads marked by the LDA had already been declared commercial zones and they could not be further commercialised. He alleged the government wanted to oblige some stakeholders by commercialising the roads. The petitioner prayed the court to stop the government from commercialising these roads. staff report
