LAHORE (APP): The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has given compensation cheques each containing Rs 500,000 to the heirs of victims of building collapse in BOR Housing Society.LDA Vice Chairman, Amir Asghar Dar distributed cheques among the heirs of Ghulam Nabi S/O Muhammed Jahangir from Depalpur, Saifullah s/o Tajdin from Lahore and Bashir Ahmed s/o Rehmat Ali of Kasur while the identification of a body has yet to be established The heirs also filed their affidavit before the Judicial magistrate about the receiving of compensation.Amir Dar talking to the media at Jinnah Hospital said that every deceased and injured would be provided compensation as announced by the LDA on the direction of Chief Minister Punjab. He said that inquiry against the LDA officers was in progress and stern action would be taken against them besides getting registered FIR against them. Three people had died and 27 others injured when an illegally constructed building collapsed in Board of Revenue Housing Society near Johar Town during the anti-encroachment operation by the LDA.
