LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif on Friday urged the nation to decide on Independence Day whether it wants to bring violators of the constitution to justice or let them go free once again. “We should block the path of military coups and martial laws to make Pakistan prosperous and strong,” he said while addressing a flag-hoisting ceremony at the Aiwan-e-Karkunaan-e-Pakistan. Veteran journalist Majeed Nizami, Justice (r) Javed Iqbal and Senator Pervaiz Rashid were also present on the occasion. Nawaz said he had urged the government to hold former military ruler General (r) Pervez Musharraf accountable for abrogating the constitution. He said, “It is our responsibility to revive the spirit of national unity and follow the Quaid-e-Azam’s guiding principles of unity, faith and discipline.”
