ISLAMABAD: Residents of Barakhu have urged the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to install overhead bridges on diverse corridors of main Murree road which was causing daily casualties.
They urged authorities concerned to install overhead bridges near Dhoke Jillani, Main Athaal Chowk and Baharapull to prevent accidents taking place every day.
Assad Tabarak a resident of Athal Chowk said traffic accidents are common due to non accessibility of bridge and the commuters have no other option but to cross the road in heavy traffic.
He said senior citizens women and children were also facing difficulties to across the busy highway. He said despite the fact CDA had announced to install an overhead bridge near Athal Chowke eight months ago but no development could be made in this regard.
Naila Ghffar a resident of Dhoke Jillani complains that her school going children feels danger due to absence of any crossing point and she has to come out during school time along their children to provide them protection.
She held responsible CDA for not paying heed to address such problems and appealed Chairman CDA to issue directives to install overhead bridges in the area.
