According to DAWN, the rain last night here brought the temperature down from 27 degrees Celsius TO 25 Celsius and those people in the twin cities who get pollen allergy during the spring got some respite as the atmosphere has become clear to quite an extent.
Dr.Jawed Hayat,Head of the Infectious Diseases at Holy Family Hospital in Rawalpindi said,’Pollen count usually decreases because rain cleans the atmosphere.’
Besides,the rain and thunder storm caused mud houses and temporary shelters of kiosks some damage and in some places trees were uprooted by the winds that were blowing at 120 km and hour.The Met.offices announced 9.1 mm of rainfall in Rawalpindi and 7.2 mm in Islamabad.
The farmers welcomed the rain as the downpour was very beneficial for the wheat crops especially in the arid and dry regions.
