ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) will announce the reserved judgement in suo motu case regarding cutting of trees for canal widening project in Lahore on Thursday (tomorrow). A two-member bench comprising of Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani and Justice Mian Saqib Nisar had reserved the judgement on August 15. During the hearing, Punjab Additional AG Khadim Husain Qaiser, ASC for LDA Salman Aslam Butt and AOR Mehr Khan Malik appeared on court notice while Senior ASC Dr Parvez Hassan appeared as a court mediator. Further, Lahore Bachao Tehrik/Save Lahore Movement (LBT) Convener Imrana Tawana, and Iram Aftab, appeared for LBT. Assistant Professor of Psychology, Punjab University, Ali Hassan, Naumana Amjad, architect Kamil Khan Mumtaz and Saima Ameen Khawaja appeared on behalf of WWF Pakistan. Lieutenant Colonel (r) Ijaz Nazim and Alexander Uvidine appeared for NGO Shajar Dost.
