LAHORE, March 2: The Lahore High Court (LHC) gave on Wednesday a last chance to the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) to submit the record of the Lahore Press Club Housing Scheme and adjourned by March 22 a petition challenging the proposed conversion of a park of the scheme into a residential area.
Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed has already stopped the Punjab government from converting the park into residential plots. The stay order was extended till the next hearing.
Din Muhammad Dard has filed the petition against the transformation of the park into the residential area that the elected body of club distributed forms to members to provide them plots in the parks disturbing the master plan and in violation of
the law.
The petitioner took a plea that land once fixed for a park cannot be shifted to any other purpose.
