QUETTA: First phase of Gwadar port has been completed before stipulated time for anchorage of heavy vessels.In an impressive ceremony, anchorage of 70-thousand heavy ship was ensured under the supervision of Chinese engineers at already prepared berth. Fire works was displayed to celebrate the occasion.
The first information of Chinese engineers’ success was transmitted to the President general Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz. Both of the leaders congratulated the Chinese engineers for their ceaseless efforts in ensuring the completion of the work before time.
Information reaching from Gwadar said that a 70-thousand tonnes heavy ship from China was berthed in Gwadar port, which is one of the largest deep-sea ports in the world. The ship was carrying machinery and other equipment related to Gwadar deep-sea port.
Sources told Online that Chinese engineers had claimed to complete the first phase of port in January 2005. Contrary to it, the Chinese engineers had translated their claim into success before time through work hard.
The berthing facility for the heavy ships has been completed so far. The Chinese ship has become the first ship, which has been berthed on Gwadar deep-sea port and the ship agent Garab Lines is credited with becoming first agent in managing the anchorage of first foreign ship on the port.
