ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) has frequently ordered Capital Development Authority’s (CDA’s) departments concerned to evacuate the lands occupied or encroached by the police stations but they did not take any action so far, said the sources.
Sabzi Mandi Police Station was built on CDA land allocated for 11th Avenue. Later, it was shifted near Metro Cash and Carry market but the police set up Car Cell Office at that place. Shahzad Town Police Station was built at Green Belt on Park Road, but it was later, shifted half km away from the site and the DSP (Rural) opened his office in the old building. Traffic Police office, located in F-8 Green Belt, is also on an encroached land.
They have been using land in Sector I-11 also. SSP Dr Moin Masood said it should be kept in mind that the police was serving public and they were not taking any benefit from the said land. He said the police were serving people. He said a plot was allotted to the Traffic Police near Faizabad in 2007, but their office was not constructed there so far. He underlined the police would shift all their offices as soon as construction were done.
