LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Law and Justice Rana Sanaullah has said the provincial government had started the crackdown against sugar hoarders on the directives of the federal government, but the Centre had now backtracked on the issue. Talking to a private TV channel on Tuesday, he said sugar prices could fall to Rs 40 per kilogramme once the crackdown was completed. Rana said the people must be compensated for a Rs 2.5 billion agreement between the federal government and sugar mill owners.
